  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Trade WR for TXC?

Suamico SD

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have an chance to trade my WR250 for a TXC 250 do I do it?

The bike will be riden by my 20 year old son in 2hour harescramble races here in wi and mn. He rode a 450 this year and thinks he wants omethng different.

I just picked up a 300 2t for myself so I was giving him the 250 already.

Thoughts?

I've got a hunch you, or more likely the cafehusky server, made a mistake - and 2 identical threads were created. I went ahead and deleted the other one for you.

Might depend on what year TXC, first ones were great trail bikes while the later X- lite ones may be a better race bike.
He also needs to determine if he is 2 stroke/ 4 stroke gender specific

The TXC is a 09 (carb'd)
He is comfortable on both, he rode a 200 for a couple of years and a 450 4t this year.

I understand we can pump the 250 to a 310 if he needs more horses.

I had a 09 310 we both liked a lot.

What type of terrain? What riding style? The 250 2t will have more power if that's what you need. (what yr 2t) I would say the 250 4t would be at a disadvantage in stock form, from what ive read. As a 310 though, they are supposed to be awesome woods bikes. I would like to have one in addition to my wr300. Juha Salminen won world endure again this year on one in Europe. Of course he could prob win on a tricycle. keep in mind cost of maintenance, and if you both have 2t, you will have same gas and parts swap ability. Which may come in handy.

Well i did it, i rode the TXC back to back with the WR, both have high points, but I think the TXC will serve him better.

See you all over int he the 4t section!
