• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Top 5 spot to ride in the US

I have just read woodchicks ride report, and it tells me that the big land down under does not have the monopoly on the best tracks in the world. Before I got my Husky and hooked up with Cafe Husky I had no desire to go to the US, but after reading and watching you tube links it has started a little burning desire to jump on a plane to the US and do some riding.
So what I would like you guys to do is to list your top 5 ride for some one who would like to ride in the US. This might cause some in house rivalry between states, but I'm up for a good laugh:lol:

And thanks woodchick for the ride report:thumbsup:

Kel

Actually I would say the area Woodchick was in is in the top 5 easy. Great riding out there where Oregon/California/Nevada/Idaho converge. Especially if you arent fond of mud and trees.

downieville looks unbelievable:eek:

downieville is truly great riding.

now imagine it being 75 times as big.

and take out all the mtb weenies.

and imagine the trails got about 1/10 the use.

and then make the trails narrower.

and especially remove the chp wiener that hassles motorcycles on the road trying to connect trails.

Downieville is by far my favorite place I've ridden, of course I've never ridden Idaho. This thread would be taboo on that other site.
