  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc took the little husky down to north carolina!

Went to north carolina motosports park over the weekend, the 04 cr125 performed great. The suspension is still too soft but im dropping that off this week, but the rest of the bike was superb. It handles so good (even with the original 10 year old beat up tires) clutch is so effortlessly light and easy to modulate with one finger, front brake is so strong again one finger stuff there.

Now for the motor, it could use some more beans, me being 210 pounds there was some jumps i was screaming out.of the corners in 2nd full throttle through 4th and just making these bears! Ripping out of some of the deep rutted corners uphill it took alot of clutch work and pinned throttle to get out of them with any kind of hurry. Could use some more revs up top as well, but it still ran great. I was far from the fastest guy there, but far from the slowest as well, and im happy with that since i was on the slowest full sized bike there and im one of the heavier dudes out there at 210.

It is an absolute blast making up time on other riders and chasing them down on the 125, a whole lot of revs, noise, and gear changes to make it happen, but you sure feel like a hero !
