• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Too many vibes?

So the last couple times I rode my bike the kickstand didn't flip up all the way on it's own. I didn't think much of it until I got to work today and saw that the entire kickstand was missing****************************************!

Is this something that I should expect to happen once in a while or was the person who installed it just a little lax?

This also makes me wonder...what other parts frequently fall off due to vibrations?

I want to make a pre-ride checklist of the nuts and bolts that may come loose from time to time. Any suggestions?

The kickstand bolt was on the list on this forum, mine started to loosen, but look at the bright side, you can now upgrade to the Ken Webbstand!

sprocket and sub frame bolts should be checked regularly. also plastic body works fasteners should be checked once in a while. The 610/630 is a vibrator and tends to loosen stuff. Loc-tite can be your friend.

Check all the engine mounts too. My upper engine mount (the triangular piece) was so loose it was rattling.

I´ve got a rattle that comes from somewhere, but can´t find out from where. Could be the front disk... or maybe the anti hop clutch. Lost a side panel recently.

Big singles have a nasty habbit of rattling bits loose, My Husaberg 650 needs regular checking of engine mounts, lost the stand once, exhaust bolts are common too.

Ignition switch mounting bolts also. Many have lost at least one of the two bolts- I almost did but caught it.

Thanks guys for all the info. I will definitely check all of these bolts before I get back on the road!

Only problem is, I have the parts, but the shop manual doesn't have anything about the kickstand.

Can someone post a close-up picture of where the kickstand connects to the frame so I can put the pieces back together correctly? Thanks!

Oh yeah I think I'll be using blue loctite....

Johngil lost his top chain roller bolt this weekend and it ended up in the counter sprocket, locked it up. Good thing he wasn't moving when it finally fell out and into the chain.

These things vibrate like a paint shaker. :D

Yikes....going to have to check a lot of bolts!

I called my local shop and they ordered the parts.

After receiving the parts I checked them vs. the parts list (JT is awesome!) because it looked like there was a discrepancy. The bolt I got that the sidestand pivots on (#56 on drawing) just seems to thread into the sidestand and is not long enough to have threads left over to put the bolt on the end of it (#12 on drawing). Do you guys have the same design without the bolt that just threads into the stand? The part numbers are correct according to the parts list...stand dwg.JPGbolt.JPGstand.JPG

You can see in the photos of the parts I purchased that there is no room for the nut to thread onto the end. Weird, huh?

Neither of our TE's have a nut on the back of the kick stand bolt. The bolt just is not long enough and threads into the stand only. I have broke off the bolt on my 510 trying to get it nice and tight. I have used blue loctite, but they still come loose. I need to try red next. I have the bike on a stand and tighten it untill it starts moving the stand down.

For the side panels, I keep ours secured with zip-ties on all the bikes.

So I am still without a kickstand. The dealer ordered me another kickstand part # 8000H0234 which is the same as the first that didn't fit. I have a suspicion that this part number is for TEs and the SMS must have a different kickstand. Can someone with an SMS take a look at the side of the stand that is closest to the swingarm and tell me what numbers are on it? It should look like the 3rd pic I posted above. Thanks in advance!

This was my first MIA part. Long overdue washing yesterday as I needed to install a new rear tire. As I was quickly cleaning I noticed my upper chain roller and bolt missing. No wonder I had been experiencing a little extra chain noise.
