• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The piston will crack from the explosion.

Hey!
Two days ago I rode my husky with pleasure in St. Petersburg, beautiful view from the bridges, early morning, few cars, great time for a motorcycle.
At the next stop, at a traffic light, I noticed that the engine idle speed shows 1200-1250 rpm, the standard is 1650-1700 rpm.
The sound of the engine remained standard, no knocks, no peas.
After a couple of minutes, the engine stalled and would not start again.
I called a tow truck and took the motorcycle to the workshop.

I did all the necessary tests and checks, there is a spark on the candle, the gas pump buzzes, after I measured the compression, the value turned out to be very low 2.4 atm.

Disassembly was carried out, the camshaft cams were ok, the timing chain was ok, the gaps between the cams and the tokers were ok, after that I removed the head of the engine block.

The piston, despite the presence of a small carbon deposit, was intact, but had a crack.

The cylinder is in good condition and not damaged.

To solve this problem, I need a new piston assembly, cylinder head gasket, cylinder gasket.
I have a question, what kind of pistons is there, besides the original one.
Is it possible to supply a piston from SWM.
Does the piston fit a 610 Husky.
Are there any other options?
Thanks in advance for your reply! :)

Gentlemens, I have a question.
The original piston kit number is 8000 H1024.
Husky's official representative offers a piston kit with the number 8000H6251 and writes that this is a replacement for the previous number.
The piston kit 8000H6251 also offers the official SWM for the RS650 motorcycle, in fact it is the previous Husky 630.
Do you think this 8000H6251 SWM piston kit and 8000 H1024 piston kit replacement for 8000H6251 are identical?
Thanks in advance for your reply.qaXgflJ2h8I.jpg

Are you adding fuel to the stock settings on your bike? Our bikes in the USA were delivered very lean which was could cause piston/head gasket/rod bearing problems. I'd hate to see your new piston damaged.

My carbed 610 endured much under my (ab)use, lasted into the teens, and never had a piston crack... hoping it is a one of, and you will not have a repeat... but it does look sketchy

Я заправил бак неизвестным бензином, в этом и есть причина.
Спасибо!
Сейчас все замечательно.:)
