  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

THE BEST LIGHTWEIGHT BATTERY IN THE WORLD FOR A 450 FOUR STROKE

Shorai, by far. I've got a 14 AH Shorai on my GasGas 300 and it's better than the stock lead acid. I've had 3 Turntechs. 1 worked.

thanks for the tip. Looks like they must be good...

"The Shorai batteries are currently on backorder until the middle of April. Shorai drastically under estimated demand for this product, and they are currently working on producing more. If you have any questions about this product please let us know. At this time we are not taking new orders on this product. Once we have more inventory we'll re-activate the drop down box with the battery models."

http://www.motydesign.com/ I have had one of these for a year now and could not be happier with it. Very light (11.9OZ) to be exact. Offers a lot more room in the air box for filter changes also. Shipping was fast too.

With all the trouble Japan is having right now who nows how long that they will take to become available not to mention the back log of orders that need to be filled.

ANYONE ELSE RUNNING THESE MOTY DESIGN BATTERIES?

The inline 4 cell pack, comes with a quick connector too which is nice for removal. The funny part is when they ship it to you, it comes in the mail box it's so small.

Did you call the guys at Power Tripp?

EDIT: Oooooops nevermind. I just called them. They're out of stock too.

Haven't had any trouble with my Turntech. 5AH version and is the 1st version without the case around it. These Shorai seem to be more battery for the money and a nice case.

Odyssey makes batteries that are a little heavier than the shorais, but have more power. I put a PC310 in my TE610 and it works great. Holds a charge well, too.

I have the Shorai. I think it's the LFX09 version. I love it! So small and light, couldn't believe how much faster it starts my bike versus stock battery. There has been very few complaints from anyone on these batts. Reviews and tests seem to stack up well.
