• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Norman takes the W and Caselli gets a big fat goose egg. Great stuff out there. The pros were fast**************************************** (I saw Caselli on the road as I was leaving - the big #1 plate was hard to miss).

I got there a little later than I had hoped. For future reference, w/the exception of the lights, Bear Valley is a more direct route. But, I can now say I REALLY know my way around Hesperia and Apple Valley.

I took in three starts - which were awesome**************************************** Hung out on top of the hill (the one above the finish) and saw Norman come blowing through on his way to a 1st place finish. There was a team there riding Betas. Some really good looking bikes. Oh, I did go rub up against the WR's at the Husky tent. They're almost giving those bikes away (as low as $3400****************************************).

I had to video the life flight helo taking off. Why? Because the miracle of flight is pretty kick ass.

Here are some pics.

Kendall Norman letting everybody know how @#$%#@@ fast he is.

My friend Ricky Barbec got a big goose egg too, apparently he had a clutch hydraulic line explode.

Thanks for the pictures TemecuCoastie.

It's a NEW 2011 WR250 we had on display in our pit. We brought out 10 Husky's and 2 Bergs to show off for the weekend. Thanks for coming by and checking 'em out.

I was half tempted to buy one and cram into the back of the Explorer....of course I'd be relegated to the couch for the rest of my life for having done so. The Boss Lady would say two bikes are enough.

Though I've been to 29 Stumps a few times I've never been out to the Lucern area. I really like the area and plan to do some riding out there when I get back from gawd-awful Virginia.

I kind of thought the pro purse would have been bigger. $300 for 1st is barely enough for gas and a stop at In n Out for a Double/Double on the way home (for my friends not from SoCal, In n Out is kind of the Mecca of hamburger joints and the Double/Double is king).

While the pros were kick ass and really fun to watch, the grassroots is what I really enjoyed about the event. All types of bikes, all types of skill levels, all types of people and all of them out to make some dust and have a good time. From state of the art toy haulers to rusted out vans to Toyota Corolla's w/hitches mounted - everybody showed up. It was really great to see.

Note to non-believers, Those Purvines massaged Beta 498s are instantly competitive. 2 in the top 5 at the season opening H&H. Nick Burson P4 (former Husky and Kawasaki rider and nice, gentleman racer). TJ P5.

Pretty much committed to getting off my arse and doing some D37 events....when I get back from Virgnia. I was there [at the reaces] Sunday watching the starts and found myself becoming a little envious of you all. Was even making bike noises as I walked over towards the finish area (seriously, I do that quite often. The Wife thinks I'm immature).

Thanks for the invite....
