  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Thank you KTM for buying Husky!!!

I've just returned from ANOTHER fun ride on singletrack, using this bike that you've built for MX. This FC250 is the best singletrack machine that I've ever ridden. This bike is awesome! I've ridden motorcycles for over 30 years, and this FC250 is the funnest motorcycle that I've ever owned. I don't know if any of the KTM or Husky big shots read this forum, but if you do - THANK YOU! 10922533_10203721916795506_8747100490859531990_n.jpg

That should read 'Thank you KTM for buying the Husqvarna stickers'.:)

Glad you like them, I'm fine with that as are a lot of people, but I actually bought my Husky TE449 because it wasn't a KTM & love it.
I don't enjoy the feel of the KTM based bikes & it annoys me a a little that the take-over stopped any future development of my bike's platform.

Doubtless, there will be some more model separation down the track & they'll get their own feel.

Hope it lasts longer than my neighbors 2014 TC 250(ktm model),detonated and screwed up the top end badly during his last race (I think it had 8 hours) He said that they believe it had to do with ignition failure/timing. ..but then again you have the 4 stroke not the 2t....

The one KTM that would have made me cheat on Husky was the 250sx, now with the tc250 I feel a little better about it lol.

Glad you like the bike, I'd congratulate you if you bought a vespa and said it was the best. These things aren't practical in any way, buy what you like. It would really suck to buy something as expensive as new dirt bikes and be disappointed. I'd really like to ride a fe250 as a comparison to what i have now.

What was your last bike?

I still have my last one - an '06 WR450f. My last real singletrack machine was a 2003 Honda CR250R. It was pretty good after switching to a keihin carb, modding the electric PV, having the suspension revalved, adding V force reed cage, a bigger gas tank, and finding a way to keep the rear spokes tight...

The Wr450f is a good camping bike, but is pretty bad in the singletrack (compared to the FC250). And that is after removing all of the WR's excess weight... And de-smogging... And trying to get the carb to work perfect - I'm the 3rd owner of that bike, and the 3 of us have spent HOURS adjusting that FCR...

..yeah ,but it didn't blow up and it still starts, runs, handles great--so does my WR125 and my TC 250(ITALIAN TC that is)and they never cost as much as a ktm/husky...unless ktm starts rising replacement parts cost- oh yeah they already did.Enjoy your ktm HUSKY
Enjoy your Italian Husky, just like I enjoy all my Italian Huskys. I just Enjoy my Swedish and Austrian ones too.

This bike works so well that I've decided to start doing Enduro again. I stopped back in 2011, after struggling with my Cagiva's (Italian Husky) and my CR250R.

I worry about not having a true spark arrester (for enduro) and ordered an FMF Q4 silencer for the FC250. Hopefully it doesn't choke it out too much. Yesterday I flipped over backwards in 3rd gear from grabbing too much throttle - I liked that, and don't want that to change. :)

With all my accessories and suspension even with all my discounts and buying the bike at a discounted price I'm at like 9500 or so with the dampner or a tish more or less. But reality check if I don't like it I won't force it to work or brag it is the greatest. I will give a fair true review with the goods and bads.....I'm itching to ride it that's for sure.. .

I can't help but ask - why spend so much money on stuff before even riding it? Maybe it didn't need a re-valve and damper??
