• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The Husqvarna's are not ready, so they shipped us KTM 450's. There wouldn't be enough time to test a new Husky anyway, not that the KTM's are ready to race. Should be interesting, we've never raced orange bikes before.

they make white plastic for the KTMs and you can add a splash of yellow stripes and walla, husky :D

Haha, I think we have to race with orange fenders. Besides, my disk guard you sent me is orange. Luckily, I have fantastic friends like Chris Blais @ KTM racing services and our sponsors are really coming through to help us. It's like, here, take this new brand and you have one month to be able to ride this horrible race. It will be interesting.

Did you send me a Motosportz sticker? I can't remember, as long as it's not too big I'll get it on the race bike.

Open Pro class I believe. Ty dominated it for 5 years on Yamaha. We were going to race the Husaberg FE501 but it has a wide transmission and has power better suited for wide open desert racing. These 450's are built for motocross with the updated engines and linkage suspension.

Sen=40+ usually, Vet=30+, Super Sen or Mag= 50+ for most series events. Is that what the reference question was?
In most racing series class breakdowns Ty is technically a Sen A (expert) this is where former pros just kill us ammies in the age classes.

PS on the second viddy I-Man start, guys are so dopey at the start of the iron man 24 hours of racing/riding around the course a guy is down in the first corner..........cmon man really.

Ty did great with a 300 2-stroke one year.
I remember Ty coming in 1st of the two strokes with a 3rd over all on the Husqvarna wr300 with Kris Keefer and Gary Sutherlin. They lost a whole lap because they ran out of gas. Ran another lap with no brakes. That's a very long crazy race with dirt, bridges, obstacles and the San Bernardino Sheriff race track.

Ty Knows how to set up a Husky 300 that is why I purchased my 300 from Zip Ty Racing
With his help he has made my 300 into a winner All I have to do is sit on it and hang on

I just rode a 2012 KTM 450SX with linkage and was impressed. I'm not man enough to hang onto it for very long but for 5 minutes I felt hero. Then I wanted my EZ to ride 165 back :D Fast, feels light, handed nice and had no PDS weirdness (cuz it was not PDS)

Oh come now, you can hang onto a 511, but you can't hang with a wimpy little orange 450? haha
At any rate, our orange race bike isn't an SX. I can't give out specifics what it is, but come race day I think you should come take a closer look. ;)

tinken insinuates that you will be wandering the pits so come by and have a look at the 24 hour bike!! quick drive down from Wa. to have a look, hahaha.
On the 24 hr weekend I'll be recovering from the 100s nat. doing my Ajax duty, and getting ready for the Gorman qualifier on the following weekend.
