• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE610 - 8AE 1994 - Engine knocks and buzz

Husqvarna
Hello together,

since one week i'm hearing during the ride a knocking from inside the engine with a speed dependet buzz. Yesterday it get so loud, that i stop the engine, because I was afraid something goes damage.

It sounds like a knock from the camshaft.

This video i made last week. It was quiter at this moment, than today.

Because i don't know enough about the bearing tolerances, i made some videos of the parts an would be very happy, if we finde the technical problem by this way together.

AutoDeko at Camshaft
Is it right, that the sping is very powerless like in the following video? Or could cause this the beat?

Rocker arm clearance - defective bearing?

Camshaft bearing - Too much clearance?

Thanks a lot for your Help

I would replace the bearings of the camshaft.
The spring of the auto deco doesn't look too weak to me and even if it was too weak, it could cause problems when starting the engine, but it shouldn't affect what happens later, as far as I know.

Hi together, ok, i have ordered some new spare parts for this bike.

And so on i think, i have finde the reason for the knocking engine...

That's the the back chain slide. It Look's destroyed in my eyes ^^.

Thus i ordered the following parts:

- Back chain slide
- Rocker arm bearings
- Head gasket
- Waterpump seal
- Waterpump bearing
- Camshaft bearings

... i hope, the replacing of this spare parts will be the solution for the knocking eninge :)
