• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I read in Advrider that the bike is headed to the Pharaons rally & confirmed it with the link you provided. I checked the entry list & the only Husky I saw entered was a 610 :excuseme:

And the gas tank could be nice too…

I will post a pic of the fairing of your dreams, you can tuck behind it and stay dry on the rain soaked freeways, or you can single track the bike thru the woods, its baja tested, over and over, SUPER beefy, maybe too beefy. Just give me a few days. I just got a new camera. Kelley or someone needs to make these. Huge demand. HUGE. Its a product every dual sporter, winter rider or freeway commuter wants, yet oddly, nobody offers.
Add heated grips and ride year round.

Mike I’ve looked thru your web site and I got to say: :notworthy:very, very cool !
It’s a shame that things went awry for your team however the path that you have chosen to take instead of trying to argue your rightness speaks volume of your character, I hope you are whole with that decision
It’s humbling to speak to a true Dakar head; I wonder are you going to give it another attempt (if they’ll fix the terrorist problem…)?
I’ll love to see pics of your fairing (I always had the hots for the Dakar replicas so the real thing should be awesome) even thou it seems that I’ll go the Hoder’s way…;)

The first thing that popped into my mind seeing that 530 was that it must be a bitch to pick up if it goes down and you're tuckered out. Interesting tank, I see 2 caps on it? Is the tank divided so all fuel is not lost if a leak occurs on 1 side?
 
Wonder how much torque/Hp increase there is with the 530 kit?

What type of rear tire is that?
