  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE511 - Oil Recirculation Kit - Anyone to install it in OR/WA?

erktastic

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi there,

I recently moved to Portland Oregon and finally brought my TE511 up. I've been sitting on this oil recirculation kit for the better part of a year now and just do not have the time or the tools to do the installation anymore (rebuilding tool collection but time is the big issue). I know some of the members here are from this area, anyone know of someone/shop/dealer who knows these bikes well and would be willing to install it? I normally prefer doing these things myself but damn am I busy lately!

Thanks much!

Not letting me edit my original post, but I see there's a new generation of the kit available? I have the original, are there any super important differences?

Also, looking for someone to ride with in the area, show me around!

Bills Motorcycle Plus is in Salem I believe which is a short distance from Portland. They are more than qualified to do the work for you.

Thanks Tinken! So, if I'm reading this correctly I'd only need to add the drain back kit to make my kit the same as the 2nd gen?

You could also PM Kelly ( Motosportz ) He is in Vancouver and my be able to direct you to someone in town. I would be happy to help, but Im in Eugene which is a couple hours away.

Hey,
I'm in Portland also. Got a TE511and the Zipty kit I have not yet installed. If you want to install it yourself we could do them both at the same time. Can second taking to Bills for the work if not. If you are interested in riding you could go with us, lot's of fun dual sport stuff fairly close and we do a lot of riding on the east side of the Cascades also. Let me know.
Jeff

It's actually a pretty easy install. Hardest part is drilling a hole.

Oops totally forgot about this thread. Thanks much everyone, really appreciate it. Treetrimmer, it was great meeting you yesterday at the alley sweeper, it was a soaking wet good time! At any rate I'm going to order the updated drain-back kit and will be in touch, thanks again!
