  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looks good and thanks for being a great customer. let us know how you like it. I am about to send mine off to Ty to do mine (lower/revalve/respring)

You have quite a list there now. One thing I noticed about the heat shield is the space between the shield and the rear brake reservoir is nice and large, perfect for an extended reservoir. :D
Needs 2012 TC449 filter cover too.

Maybe a radiator fluid expansion reservoir and a water cooled clutch cover with a 150cc coolant bottle and a oil tank that ties in to the cover aswell !

that 1st photo the bike has no side-stand.
Just got it back from the welding shop and installed today.
1" shorter.

Ty Re-valved and lower 1.5 Inch my Wife 310. What a difference. My Kids can can still hit 2-3 foot whoops pinned. Rides amazing for being lowered.

Two year's ago, I had the suspension sprung and re-valved for my liking by another company. When I said I was not happy with the Rear shock still, He explained to me all the issues that remain with the Rear shock on the 511 like he was reading my mind. Ty was telling me the 449/511 rear shock has problems for aggressiveness riders (Race) that very few know how to even get close to solving. In a few weeks Off to TY to see if he can work his magic  If the issues remain, Time to save for an Ohlins.

Just got back from a day & a half at Koocanusa on the newly lowered/revalved/resprung 511.
All is good with the new suspenders.
Many of the Kooc trails are badly whooped out but I was able to ride faster & in better control than last year on the stock TE310.
Easily cleared all the log crossings we came across.
Nice to be able to get both feet on the ground.
A couple pretty spectacular failures on hillclimbs due to rusty riding skills, but the bike was flawless.

Lake level was very low so we were able to have a 2-mile drag race across the dry flats.
The TE did good! A very close second behind a EXC525 with a 540 kit and other upgrades.
Just behind me was an EXC450 and waaay back was a WR450 Yamaha and the others (orange 200 smoker and an orange 250-F).
Don't know how fast we were going, didn't dare to look at the speedo.
15/52 sprockets & couldn't pull redline in sixth.
Soft silty dirt robs a lot of HP.

Nice ! At least your new sticker is true, I've been contemplating having a TE476 sticker made just to keep it real.
That's one hell of a list. I'm curious, however, the reasoning behind the reduction of the motor. Especially given the Akro and JD,
performance upgrades although I do know that not only performance upgrades but "make it run right" upgrades. I guess what I'm asking
is why not get a 449, save a little $.... I can understand the suspension lowering as they are definitely tall. I'm not knocking what you've done at all,
and I love hearing about beating a KTM and YZ450. Just polite, curious conversation.

I've been waiting for someone to comment on the 455 stickers
Nothing really done to the engine, just put on those numbers to mess with my buddies heads.
Husky chose 511 for some reason so when the stock decals came off in the wash I decided to rebadge it just for fun.
went with 455 after the Oldsmobile Rocket.

Not that I ever had one but I like the song.
