  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE511 baja adventure

Husq-a-daygo

Husqvarna
AA Class
As some of you may know, I recently ran my new 511 for a four day baja adventure. The bike ran flawlessly, plenty of power, killed the whoops and looked good while doing it. Some of the guys who opted to ride the sponsored CRX450's were drooling over my Husky the whole trip lol. Cheers more to come...

If you click the media button and past your video link, it will auto load in the thread posting. :)

Ha! Looks like my buddy and co-worker Kris is in there! He told me how well your bike did. Cant wait to check it out

Looks like a lot of fun. So bikes were provided (CRF450X's) for the trip but you could use your own instead ? Sounds like a pretty cool ride. BTW I
would've ridden the Husky over a CRF450X as well although those huge tanks on the Hondas were pretty useful, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing.

Another vid for your viewing pleasure... FYI it was HOT out there in Tecate 105 deg and we had run some 80 miles to get to this point of the video. The Blurry Fist Crew was pretty whipped at this point.

The ims tank is a winner. It really didn't feel like I was sloshing fuel around. The sides of the tank are narrow enough to not get in the way too much when standing but my knees did rest on the tank when I was riding while standing. Overall I loved the reassurance with the extra fuel. I'm guessing the range with the tank is in the neighborhood of 250 miles. That is pretty much enough range to get you gas in baja anywhere you may find yourself.

heading down to baja end of nov. what sprockets size front and rear did you have? recommend anything different?
