  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE449 to SM conversion

A Class
Hi guys,
Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched but have not found what I need to know.
I want to convert my 012 TE449 to Sm.

I was looking at the Warp9 rims until I found they are not cush.
Do I need a cush rim or dose the Torque limiter give me cush?

Will i need any thing else apart from a shorter kickstand?
Thanks for your help.

Warp 9 rims worked great on my bike. Im happy with them. They are cheap and not premium quality or weight but I am not a SUMO racer. If youre real concerned maybe you want to go with a slipper clutch?

I did not shorten my kickstand but on a windy day in a level parking lot, Id imagine she'd be laying on her side. I did grind off the switchblade nub from the kickstand pivot, though.

Thanks for your replys

Pm sent.

So cush hubs are not a necessity with Huskys then? And nobody has any gearbox issues by not using them?

Are you racing or racing the streets? If racing, you want a slipper clutch, if just for the streets/commuting then your should be fine!

One of the guys has an SMR449 with near on 10,000km no issues, all street riding though, no track days. Mix of commuting ans spirited road riding that is.

Cool thanks. its just that I had noticed on other forums about other brands, that it was a big no no to not use them or a different clutch.
