• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE449 single butterfly & TPS-tuned throttle response

Dangermouse449

Husqvarna
Pro Class
A short video of the TE449 in the real world showing no flameouts, bogging or hanging throttle.

Riding the type of terrain in this video, going from idle to cracked throttle and back to idle again, will quickly bring about flameout from the standard set-up & the hanging throttle of the faulty second butterfly system will throw you into the trees.
Having the second butterfly out adds the quick response needed to pop the front up over ruts & roots etc & takes away that 250cc feeling.
The power is still very easy to control using the supplied power adjusted on the RH handlebar
(I.e. The throttle):D

There are other ways of achieving this, but for me, this wins hands down on price alone.

hey dangermouse - I am considering this mod. I too have had issue with the lack of quick response needed to pop the front wheel up on this TE449 bike. I get the flame outs here and there but otherwise love the bike. These days I'm more into sight seeing and technical skill development than going like hell through the woods at break neck speeds. I've heard of the mod and briefly rode with a guy who did it. I'll be searching for more info, but if possible, could you point me in the right direction with regard to instruction and or info? Thanks.

Motosportz - i'm educating myself on the topic...just started. I don't even know exactly what ibeats is although I have an idea. Is there a quick, clean post with directions on how to best do this mod?

I was talking to DM449 and his most excellent mod. :)

Lots of threads here about it, use the search function and read on. The removal itself is simple. Some tuning might be required after but my bike simply ran better, better response and no dead throttle which is much safer.
