  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE449: Brake pedal

N4544D

Husqvarna
AA Class
Peeled my brake pedal back and snapped it in half upon trying to bend it back. Ordered one from local dealer but 2.5 weeks gone by with nothing...any suggestions?

Am I wrong to assume a brake pedal is a common item that should be readily in stock in the system? Or should I expect a long wait period for parts (and maybe pre-order a set of spares in anticipation of carnage)?

Thanks

I ordered a tank panel six weeks ago from my reliable dealer and it's still not here. He said it will be December before I see it due to the factory moving sites !!

Just called Hall's Cycles (a site sponsor) to check and they had one in stock! I am keeping my brake pedal order with my local dealership to have a spare. I ordered the power up plug when I bought the bike and it took 4 weeks. I will keep this thread updated so others can see what to expect for parts orders.

Ordered a gas cap. Took three weeks to ship. With Husky it looks like you need two bikes. In case one needs a part you will still have something to ride.

Talked to Hall's asking about other parts and what to expect for delivery, they said 4-6 weeks. Hopefully that improves as Husky is integrated into KTM. I know there is a lot of speculation about moving factories to Austria, keeping factories in Italy etc...I don't know what the real story is, I just hope it's not like this indefinitely...otherwise you are right, I will need to buy a second bike as a parts bike! Or I could just stop crashing, but that's not likely to happen...

Incidentally, I will have an extra brake pedal for a 449 if anyone is ever in a bind and needs one ASAP. Just contact me.
