Stalled bike in the woods and the sprag stuck to the flywheel...the starter was turning with the motor. Got too push it out.
I just removed the flywheel and that ring gear is stuck on there. Any tips to separating them?
The good news is the lapped flywheel I carefull torqued with 609 retaining compound did not twist an inch. The woodruff key looks fine. I'm happy about that. 2 yrs and no wear on the gears at all.
I wonder if the ring gear will be worn where it contacts the sprag...I have a new flywheel and a new sprag. I still have the original ring gear but it was replaced by the dealer in failed attempt to fix the e-start. Don't know if I should try it? Should I buy a new one?
Any ideas on separating the sprag?
