  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE250, '09 or '10 - Differences

Xicobombas

Husqvarna
A Class
Which one do I have ?
The previous owner told me it's a 2010 model, but it was registered in '09 October.
It's a Meo Replica.
Can someone tell me more than 1 difference between 2009 and 2010 TE250 Meo Replica Husky ?

I don't think I have a x-lite motor, but that's just me saying.

Edited:
Searching on both workshop manuals, the frame serial number says it's definately a 2010 model.
But I want to know from an outside point of view, are there any significant differences ?

One obvious difference is in the exhaust header. The 2009 was a 2 into 1, while the 2010 was a single pipe.

Cosmetically, the valve cover is red on the 2009 and black on the 2010.

Also, the spark plug is conveniently located, angled, on the right side of the head on the 2009. It's directly on top for 2010.

Yes, I think that is an X-lite motor. I had an 08 TE250 and a 10 TXC250 with the X-lite. If I remember correctly, the cam chain tensioner is on the left side of the cylinder on the older engines

The whole bike is different from a 2009. There is a new chasis and new designed light motor with more power. Sorry but a 2009 and 2010 have little in common but the wheels and a few assorted parts like that.

Guys I think (and stand to be corrected) that the 10 was the last of the old motor. I have an 09 and 10 in the shed. Both nearly identical. The Grey engine I believe surfaced in 2011.

That is incorrect. 2010 250 and 310 were non-redhead XLite engines.

you sure about that Jonathan? I thought I remembered (hah) that husky did the 250s first. No? The parts book and workshop manual are separate (250; 310-450-510)

...gawd, I can't remember shit. weren't some TC250s carbed and then later TBI in 2010?

That is incorrect. 2010 250 and 310 were non-redhead XLite engines.

So this review is for a 2009? (No, it isn't)

And the shop manual and parts manual for 2010 were only for the 250, because it was the only x-lite. While the 310, 450, and 510 still had the common manuals.

Also, places producing aftermarket parts for Husky x-lites specified 2010 and up 250 and 2011 and up 310. Motosportz, for example.

Consider yourself corrected. :)

This is how I remember it.

TC250 2009-2011 x-lite with black head 2012-2014 x-lite with red head.
TE250 2010-2012 x-lite with black head 2013-2014 X-lite with red head.
TE310 2011-2012 x-lite with black head 2013-2014 X-lite with red head.

^^ This sounds about right. My 10 TXC250 X-lite had a black head. They went to red when they went to the F1 style box in box pistons

i have the same bike but was told it was a 310. the frame says its a 2010 US te250. Is there a way to tell between the 250 and 310.
It's got the mukini throttle body and a Power commander under the seat. Goes pretty well either way but i'm looking at registering the bike and need to find out.
Cant find a Engine number on it anywhere
