• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone els have this issue? My tank looks horrible and im not sure what caused it. Never kept outside, run 108 octane Klotz with amsoil. My dads 2016 300 is still prefect looking.

No issues here.

Man that looks like crap.

Sorry, had to say it.

I do run an oversized tank in riding season. Stock tank in the winter.

My 2013 300 XCW did that, and my 2017 TE300 is looking the same. I had to unfortunately put a couple gallons of Ethanol in the 2017 Husky during a 120 mile loop in Colorado, and didn't drain the old gas until a few weeks later. I am assuming that is what did it. Other than that, it was white as normal until the CO trip, and was a year old at the time of the trip.

Bummer really, as there seems no way to remove the staining, and it looks like hell.

That seems odd that you're running same fuel as your Dad, but I've seen lots of discolored tanks that started white-ish natural. Assuming it's the stock tank. Maybe they changed suppliers for 17? Considering how many bikes they crank out with common tanks I'm sure they look for the best bulk price.

He just picked the 300 up in the fall, I dont think it has seen race gas but I wonder how all the pro's are running race gas and have clear tanks still. I have my bike forsale & almost everbody has asked if thats the stock tank... I feel its dropped the value of the bike a little and it does horrible. I had a YZ450f with an oversized IMS tank on it that was yellow but that bike was 10 years old. This thing is hardly over a year. I might try to contact husky and see if theres anything to do about this. I cant even find a stock tank replacement but havent tried calling a dealer yet, im sure its not cheap!

I just got done using some Klotz octane booster and after only 1 race it is turning brown. I tried some bleach over night and could not see any change.

I used some two stroke oil that made my gas tank turn brown many years ago. Later on, I used a different brand of oil and it turned back to it's original color. Motorex probably won't discolor your tank, because that's what i am using now, and I still have that old bike and the tank still looks good with Motorex premix in it.
