  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE vs TC suspension

DALE44

Husqvarna
Hey guys,
Ive noticed in my manual (08 te450) that the te and tc have different suspension (is the tc a dual cartridge?) and was wondering whether it is much better? and whether the suspension could be swapped?

On a similar note, is there much else that can be switched?
Thanks in Advance

TC and TXC had different and much better forks than the TE's. They are interchangeable, I have 08 TXC forks on my 08 TE. Almost everything is interchangeable on those bikes.

Don't the TC/TXC have Ohlins shocks? Much better than the Sachs on the TE's. The most performance gain would come from the rear shock than the forks. How are the forks different btw? Thought they were both 50MM Zokes?

08 TC,TXC,TE have the exact same Sachs shock. They all have 50mm Marzocchi "Zokes" forks but the TC and TXC have different internals. The TE forks are cartridge and the TC,TXC are twin chamber.

sounds like a win then, ive had both cartridge and dual chambers, and the dual chambers are so much nicer. The reason i ask is because i have the opportunity to buy a blown tc250 2010 model. Will this have the superior ohlins shock? and since i would have the whole bike, i cant see any fitment issues as the triple clamps and all!

2010 TC250 has 48mm Kayaba sealed-cartridge forks. If they fit on an 08 frame you will need the 2010 triple clamps and bearings.

J-train, if you wanted a Ohlins shock on your 07 TE510. You could get one from a 06,07 TC, and it would fit your 07 TE
