  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te & Txc 310 Owners - How Is The Top End Power And Motor Vibration?

Sorry to post a similar thread, but I am looking for feedback from current owners. Two areas of concern that I have are:

1. How is the power spread of the 310? Does it give up mid and high RPM power for the extra low end pull?

2. Do you notice any vibration from the larger motor? I once owned a KTM300EXC that worked OK, but it had noticeably more vibration than a KTM250EXC.

Thanks in advance!

You'll of course have to judge for yourself but....

In my opinion the TXC310 is very smooth running with next to 0 vibration - not at all like my old KTM300XC and ....
the power band is really kind of 2 stroke like - it will pull down low off the power band then transitions into a mid hit and top end rush and over-rev. The difference is that (being a 4 stroke) it really gets good traction.

I have a 20 mile single track loop I ride fairly often: my best time on KTM300XC last June was 68 minutes....on my CRF450R I ran 65 minutes last August ....I ran it in 60 minutes last month on my TXC310 .... I set the sag and adjusted the clickers a little and finished yesterday in 57.5 minutes!!! The little bike is sneaky fast.

no vibes true! I took out the end cap on the muffler and now it runs more free reving and should be faster but I haven't rode it yet in this state of tune
