• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 630 Hot Start problem ?

BACKMARKER

Husqvarna
A Class
Ran into a problem with my 630. When the bike is hot (i.e. trail riding) and you shut it off it will not start. The fuel pump will not prime. After 10 min of checking wires etc. it will start with no problem. Starts from cold every time, only does it when hot. For whatever reason the fuel pump will not prime but after a 10 min wait it will prime and start. Once running it runs fine with no apparent problems untill you shut it off. Checked all wiring and connectors etc.. Poss bad fuel pump??? Any ideas ??

Possibly something to do with vapour lock, either gas tank not vented or similar. A non-FI dirt bike will do that if the tank vent is blocked. Hope this helps. Cam

Not had this with my Husky 630, but did happen a few time with the Continental C65 in my Piper J3 Cub. I was using the cheapest auto fuel available and gas bubbles formed in the fuel line in very hot conditions. Sounds very much the same.

I wrapped the fuel line in heat blanket while I had the tank off.

Thanks for the answers guys but the problem is the fuel pump does not prime and it will not start. When i turn the key on you dont hear the fuel pump running.

Sorry, missed that the pump wasn't running... Can you verify that the pump is getting power during the prime interval?

.

I did the fuel lines and most of the rubber boot part of throttlebody. Cool air and cool gas help!

If the pump is getting power during the prime interval them you've got a bad pump. If no power, could be pump relay, kill switch, ecu. Is your tank venting properly or building a vacuum as it empties?
