  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 511 2013 WONT START RANDOMLY.. FOR MONTHS

A.A

Husqvarna
A Class
Its been been months now my bike wont start in the middle of my rides.
Problems that i have :
First the battery goes dead every ride, i bought a new one and still the same.
Even with a full battery the bike wont turn on until the engine goes cold
the starter and battery heats a lot.
TPS has been reset , MAP changed , changed my start and stop buttons.
This started happening to me after my piston was changed.
Also my bike when ON and in neutral it will sometimes turn off.
spent lots of money 1500 euros and bike still gives me problems....

There is a problem with the negative cable on these bikes. follow the negative from the battery to the frame and check all connections for rust and see if they are properly attached.
To test if this is the issue use one cable from a set of jumperleads. Put one end on the negative of the battery and the other one on the metal of the starter motor or a bolt holding it to the engine.
If it starts OK with this, that's the issue.
If not the regulator/rectifier could be faulty and wreck your battery and stuff with the electronics.
To test that you need a multi- meter.

My bike does the same thing.
Try opening the throttle about 1/8th open when starting.
Seems to decompress the engine and allow the marginally sized starter to turn the engine.
Works for me, hot and cold engine.

It is the lead acid battery that is marginal.
The starter is nice and strong with a high amp lithium battery. Up from 130cca to 220cca on the brand I use here in Australia.... SSB
