  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te 449 2013 does not start

Alex's Te 449

Husqvarna
Hi guys, I've bought my Husky two months ago and I ride it in the desert in UAE. Today my bike left me down and I spent five hours waiting for the rescue team (first my mates then the rescue helicopter).

Anyways, what happened I fall but just a little lean on the side then picked up the bike and it did not start. It turned over the starter but the engine did not kicked in. I've checked under the seat there was two fuses and one of them popped(30amps) so i replaced it with the spare one which is in the same unit on the other side of that electrical box. Well nothing happened. When I pulled the clutch and pressed the start button the bike did not do anything small clicks over even there was no sound what so ever, then it turned over but the engine didn't start.

Other thing I've noticed (out of ordinary) that time delay what usually the bike does when I shut the engine down, did not happened. It did not make that sound when something is turning/switching off. I kept trying to start it but the engine did not engage in anyways or occasionally after a long break it would do what I commanded like to start but not always.

I hope some of you put there is an expert on this because I left the bike In the middle of the desert, pick it up tomorrow......

Not happy at all :((((

I would bring along a fresh battery and a few 30 amp fuses. If the 30 amp fuse blew....something (a wire?) grounded out to cause that. You put a new fuse in.....but maybe you blew that second fuse as well after trying to start the bike.

Check the fuse. If it is blown......inspect the wiring under the gas tank for a grounded wire. Hopefully you will not need to use that fresh battery....but if the second fuse is not blown.....maybe a fresh battery will have enough amps to fire the engine.

Hi
Could be a fuel pump or also be a loose or bad relay. When you turn the bike on there should be a hum that is the fuel pump priming. You can also check the dash display for any errors. The fuel pump relay is under the tank by the air box on the left side, check for a loose wire (just look under, no need to remove anything).

Tnx guys, I will try these things. I forgot to mention that I lost the whole rear numberplate unit with lights and everything at the beginning of this ride. Therfore wires were hanging down from the back and one of them could reach the muffler because I've checked after I fall on that side. I am not sure if it could cause any major problems. Yeah, ok the fuse popped but then after I replaced it still no result.
Can I jump start this battery from the car??

Cheers

Something came unplugged or grounded or cut. The bike was running fine right? Then a tip over and no go and a blow fuse? Look at the side you dropped it on for pinched wires, wires pulled out of a socket, cut wires etc. Sounds like something simple / electrical niot a major issue as it was running perfect before the tip over right?

And yes, jump start from a car does work.
