  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 310 Graphics

HUSQVNA

Husqvarna
AA Class
So I know the cause, but I don't know the solution... The graphics on my TE310 are starting to peel off rapidly as the bike sits in my garage. Mind you, we've had consistent 115 days for about a month now, so no huge surprise. I can't park the bike in my living room, and I don't have a cooler place to put her, so my question is, what can I do to keep the stickers from peeling off? Anyone have a home remedy out there? Superglue on the edges, rubber cement, elmers glue? Anyone?! Thanks.

Peely graphics are part of the Husky charm. Husky sent me new plastic when my bike was new and that stuff is coming off too. I've heard of some people gluing down the edges. Maybe aftermarket stickers have better adhesive.

Husky, if your listening, this may sound like a minor gripe, but it's pretty crappy considering what you pay for graphics. Sounds like this is a reoccuring problem as I had the same issue on my 2004 TC450 but chaulked it up to age. This bike is BRAND NEW. What are the chances they'll stand behind stickers? Guessing not very good. I know, sounds petty, but it's still crappy. I'll look into that helicopter tape idea, thanks.

Hmmm, I thought that they got the peely sticker thing resolved awhile ago. My 07 didn't make it 20 miles before the side panel graphics started to come off. I received brand new headlight cowl, tank shrouds and side plates, all of which still have the stickers on them.:excuseme: Of course by now, I have nice Decalworks graphics on the tank shrouds.

Did Husky send you those parts, or was that by your own doing? I know it sounds petty, and probably not high on Husky's list of things to deal with, but it's the first thing people notice and it makes for a poor showing for Husky. Have a call into my dealer, but they didn't seem overly optimistic that they could do much.

Yeah, I went right back to my dealer and complained about the stickers and asked for just the side plate stickers that fell off. I was surprised to receive a big box full of all that plastic instead of a couple of stickers one week later.

That's good to hear they took good care of you. I'm not going to stay on this one. I don't expect anything more than the stickers. I'd bet they don't prep the plastic very well before they put them on. Never had an issue when done right.

I've heard that since Husky uses nice wooden crates to ship their bikes, they have to treat the wood with some sort of pesticide to prevent the spread of bugs and it's the pesticide that reacts with the glue on the decals while the bikes sit in the crate. Both of my bikes (new left over '08's) had discolored graphics that were peeling when I took them out of the crates. I didn't raise too much of a fuss knowing the way I ride, I had a new set of plastic and graphics on order before the bikes even showed up!

Not gonna help you guys but the 2010 bikes have embedded graphics. No more peeling cause there's nothing to peel.

I peeled the rest of my stickers off when they were too tattered,a short 500 miles. With a clear tank and not one sticker on the 510, my stock 07 is stealthy black and white. Ugly to some, but sexy to me eyes. The best is that street traffic and wierdos in the forest think I'm a ranger.

I used to get that too. Back in the 80s I had a white bike with a little bit of green trim and I wore a solid white shorty trials helmet and a white set of riding duds. Hikers and back country travelers were constantly stopping me to ask if I had maps of the area, if a trail was open or other things of that nature.:p

Funny you mention that because I noticed the white was more of a dull yellow. My dealers suppose to be calling it in. I'm sure Richard (Husky Rep) is up to his eye-balls after the dealer show, but with the manual fiasco & O2 sensor plug I've been dealing with since I got the bike, I'm hopeful they'll come through in short order.

Me too!

My 2009 TE 310 has the same problem. If you know how I can get replacements from Husky, please let me know.

It seems everywhere I ride, someone asks me about the bike. Dirt people seem very interested. I try to be the best ambassador/unofficial salesman I can be. The more of these bikes in the USA the better.

I love the bike and do my best to sing its many praises. However, I feel embarrassed making excuses for peeling graphics on a brand new bike.

I couldn't have said that any better as I feel the exact same way. I took some clear packing tape and sealed the edges as a temporary fix. Not very attractive, but not as noticable as stickers all peeled up and out of place. I'll keep ya posted, but would suggest you contact your dealer and ask them to put the word into Husky. The more people who notify them, the more likely they'll recognize the problem and correct it. Those embedded graphics are the way to go in 2010 for sure.

I've yet to hear a complaint about the Cafe Husky stickers peeling, have those been peeling?

Hey guys, just so you know I have an 09 te 450 that I picked up new which had the graphics half hanging off already. I approached the dealer and said I wanted a new set as I expect a new bike off the showroom floor should be in showroom condition. I have received a new set of graphics for free obviously and also spoke to husky australia who said this was a common issue due to the heat when they were in the bike crates.

Sorry to hear that, but glad to hear they took care of you too. Where might one find these Cafe Husky stickers Coffee?

Same with me, the customer service was great, They shipped the new plastic to my house no questions asked.
So now I have two sets of plastic. One peeling slightly more than the other. :excuseme:

Hi all. New here and very much into getting a TE soon. Went to the local dealer to take a closer look at these beauties. I looked at a couple of bikes that I thought were used Huskys due to the peeling graphics, only to find out they are new bikes. Not a great first impression.
Aside from that, they are simply fantastic looking bikes, and sound quite nice as well :)
Is Husky the only company to ship bikes in wooden crates? I really think it's a plastic prep problem, or even more likely that the decals are not "strechy" enough to cope with the expanding/contracting plastic panels.
