  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te 310 gear lever 2008

zambo

Husqvarna
AA Class
I cannot get my gear lever into the right height postion. When I wear boots it just a little to low. If I raise it one tooth on spline it is to high and hits the front sprocket on up changes.I have a after market gear lever RFX brand. The bike shop tells me that it suits most TE models. I have looked on my mates bikes KTM / Yamaha and the gear levers are also a longer distance from footpeg to gear lever tip.How can I fix this problem?

I went through exactly what you're saying.

What I found to help was buying a +20mm Hammerhead shift tip, like this: http://www.hdmoto.com/Shift_Tip_p/st20w.htm

I believe it was the CRF450 model that worked. It took a little rigging to have it fit, but I had put it on an aftermarket lever. Sorry, can't remember the brand. Not sure if it'd be easier on the stock lever (or the RFX).

I also bought Sidi boots which had a lower toe box than the Alpinestars I was using. This helped as well. I also found them much more comfortable.

Actually, I just found the tip that I removed from the aftermarket shifter, and it is RFX.

Same here , Hammerhead offset shift tip made a world of difference . I am able to fit my toe under it with asize 11 boot with ease . I drilled out the factory rivet
and removed the the sharp inner edge of the Hammerhead tip to prevent cover damage . It's held up to some massive rock riding for two years now .

Thanks for the help I have ordered a new HammerHead tip and I,ll see how it goes. Seems like a problem and most riders just put up with a lever that is too short. Well setup controls make a world of differance to the rideing experiance.

I had an 09 510. Almost impossible to get a size 13 boot under the lever.
Bought the +20mm and it was better. Also added fastway pegs in low position which put the pegs back about 10mm too.
