  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Removed battery to start my buddys ktm. Put it back and nothin. Even the display doesnt work. Pushe the bike to end of the trail and then towed it back.
Any help?

My first thought would be some type of electrical connection issue, but I'm fairly sure you already knew that... so no I really do not have any input, but did want to reply to your thread so you knew it was viewed.

Can I assume you have the polarity correct?

It's the 20 amp fuse on the non kick start side of the bike. Pull off the side panel and you'll see another small fuse block in there thes not mentioned in the small owners manual that comes with the bike.

Did you check voltage at the battery? My 310 likes a full charge to do anything. Maybe the KTM drew it down too much?

You may have touched the + on the frame when fitting or removing the battery so I am with Tessier check the fuses if you have a multi meter or test light check the voltage at the starter when you push the start button if nothing there but you have battery voltage it will be the fusses. I carry a full spare set in my back pack but havent used them yet in 3000 km. The photo below is with the left side cover removed be sure to check both fuses top and bottom they are the yellow ones but also check the fusable link which is the C shaped wire you can see behind the red wires. I jump started a DRZ400 recently with no affect on my 310 so the battery should fine. Good luck let us know what you find.2012-08-20-103.jpg
