  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 250 Fuel Range?

Hello All How many Miles approx. are you guys getting out of a full Tank of fuel. 2010 Te 250 Fuel injected. Trail riding not racing,. I am wondering for the dual sports I will usual do once or twice a year. Most trails very little street. Thanks Jim

Fill it up , do some math when you refill and calculate ;)

Do you have it in power up mode (uncorked)? Are you running any fuel injection extras like JD Tuning? I have both a JD Tuner and fully powered up 2010 TE 250 - I don't race but ride to trails. Typically I get around 35 miles before the warning light comes on - and I think that signifies there's about .85 to a gallon left (I think full tank is 1.85 gallons). So I say about 50 miles before it starts needing fuel for me..

Jimmy, I ride the same bike in the same area as you.

You can only use about 1.5 Gal of gas in a 2010....I carry gas in a MSR fuel bottle on every DS ride I do that may have more then 25 miles in a section. I can get maybe 35 miles in the Pines at at fire road speeds..tight trails about 25 miles.

On my bike when the light comes on I have about 2 or 3 miles left, then I'm grubbing gas or pushing.

I don't think you should only have 2-3 miles left when light goes on.. it's a warning light, not 'your shit outta luck light' hehehe.. cause typically - it's going to be at least 5 miles to the next gas station so the light should be giving you more warning?

My 310 isn't an xlite but I get ~90-95 km if it is ran dry. This is a 7l stock tank. So I guess about 55-60 miles.

interesting I didnt get a fule light when I felt like I was running out of gas monday! I was stalling on the down hill section like I was out of gas then once I was level it fired right back up, then on a down hill it stalled, then I topped it off the next day and took it for small ride and it seemed fine Strange now I should research more, some say the fuel pump may be out of place it he tank, off to investigate I go ! Damn! Thx Guys!
