  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te 250 2008 overheating help!

hello guys, i have a problem here in my country is not a authorized dealer for my husky, so i the mechanic lol!

the problem is my bike is overheating! i have checked the relays all is working, the fan i have connected directly to my battery and is running fine, and i have purchased the water sensor update to halls cycle! and my fan wont turn on when my bike is hot!

please sorry my English my native language is spanish

thank you

Cap could be defective and can be replaced by a higher pressure item that could help. The sensor would give you running issues, and maybe stop it.

I have an 08 TE250 and have no issues with overheating. My 2012 TE310 is hard to get hot enough to make the fan go on.

My dealer makes and sells a Y adaptor that replaces the T that splits fluid to each radiator. This can help under desert/hot conditions.

thank you for your response my cap is 1.1 what you think if i replace cap for 1.4 and the Y is good idea i will order one from halls

thanks

I have really hard time to belive it. On my opinion most of the time you pay what you get so 100$ radiators are probably not better than the original one but i never tried them so you never know. I will not invest monney on these rads.

Sorry my English guys you know im from Guatemala :D

I have tested my bike and the hi flow water pump is great, I'm not disappointed, anyways I want to make run the fan so I keep check the wire harness

Thanks for help

From the color of the coolant that you show draining from the bike (picture 3), it looks like straight water. That may be the problem. Water without coolant will cause corrosion inside the motor and that will clog the radiators. You should back-flush the cooling system and add a 50/50 mix of coolant that is approved for aluminum motors.

hey guys, one question!

just to be sure my bike is te 250 2008 and i have a full wire harness with instrument display of one tc 2009 , this cannot affect the function of the fan??? just to be sure

thanks

I notice the first picture shows Athena stamped on the cylinder. does this mean its an oversize replacement cylinder?
I have read about the larger cylinders having overheat problems.
