  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This is my 2010 TC250 that I am setting up for tight woods. 13-52 gearing, o-ring chain and supersprox. Had to slot the rear hole in the chain guide a little to make room for the bigger sprocket.
I like the stock bar bend so all I did was cut 3/4" off each side to fit between the trees. Kreig already had the Leo Vince exhaust on, but I burn my pants everytime I get close to a 4 stroke so I made the carbon fiber shield for the head pipe. Rear gaurd was already on but it was cheaply made so I put another layer of carbon on.
Bike is still geared a little tall for tight stuff and I am not the most experienced clutch man, so I am currently installing a Rekluse core exp. The bike starts pretty good, but stalling on a off camber section even 3 kicks can be frustrating. I think now I will be a able to run a gear higher and smooth out the torque.
On my wish list is a factory 2.4 gal. tank and an 18" rear wheel for more tire choices.
Of course I love the "Red Heads" so I had to paint the valve cover first thing!
Sorry Kreig I have not changed the number, but the graphics still look to good to change.

ACK! I want it back! We really really miss this bike! It's a bit of consolation knowing that she ended up in the hands of an owner like Water Racer!

Rekluse Core EXP? I called rekluse about getting the exp version and they didn't offer it for the x-lite as of a couple months ago. Just the full CORE kit at $8-900. Bike looks ready to rock however, I'd ditch that stock chain guide if your're riding gnarly stuff as its aluminum body will get bent by a rock, root, log or rut and starting grinding the heck out of your sprocket. BRP or TM Designs really hold up well to the gnar!

Guess I got the name wrong, it is the full out version, Enduro Engineering sells them for 869.00, free shipping.
I will add a chain guide to my list.

Nice job. Seems to me "TC" and "woods bike" are starting to get used together a lot around here. Id love to try a xlite TC in the woods.

Yeah, I am thinking until Husqvarna updates the 250-300 2t and looking at the success of the factory teams with the 250 x-lite, it ia a good way to go. I like the simplicity and lighter weight, snappy motor vs the TE or TXC

Anybody have more suggestons on modifications for the woods?

Your bike seems like it will be great for the woods, and great looking to boot.

Are there any rocks or exposed tree roots where you ride at? I would invest into a shark fin on that bike. I have both front and rear guards from Motosportz and they are holding up well.

Great tighter woods bikes. For flowing between the trees it is really hard to beat the quick snappy power and light feel combined with out of this world handling. I find it a little more difficult in the really nasty rooty gnar and prefer stall free 2 strokes there but if it is 2-3 flowing stuff this bike is near impossible to beat IMHO.

The TC 250 is a kick azz little bike. No it is not the fastest thing around but it is so much fun to ride. I just loved my 2010 TC250. Probably the best handling bike I have ever ridden.

I think this is largely the reason fast guys are winning races on this platform.

Try a Motoz Terrapactor on the front of it, the combo is amazing. Planted and turns wherever you look. Should work great in your neck of the woods.

I am a michelin man, but I need to try some motoz, just might be converted.
Hope the rekluse helps with the tight slow stuff, I think it will.
After I shattered my femur two years ago I realized I was not going to be a great bike racer so I tend to slow down when crossing through large rocks and other obstacles to protect the bike and myself! But I may get a few more protection pieces, just careful not to weigh the bike down with gadgets.

Thanks guys for the compliments.
