• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

j-law and BMW? I don't think so. There are better choices to return to racing. Lets talk to Joe Gibbs racing and bring two great traditions together. Look at the positive results with proven people: Scott Summers and Ty Davis. Don't risk the good start to such a bonehead. Talented? Yes. The right choice? No.

Well..to be honest motocross and off road are two different disciplines altogether in terms of the type of rider required .... its OK to have a bit of the hoolagan element....perhaps Husqvarna would be better suited with rider with a slightly checkered history.....the idea being that if the bike is not at full potencial in its first year....and the rider complains about the machinery or it doesnt work out..its not as much of a loss..cause his reputation wasnt that great to start with.....conversely if you hire for eg a dungey or villapoto....and the like....if they bad mouth your machinery..your gonna look real bad.....

I think its better for a first time effort.....to look for the diamond in the rough...Looking back....remember the Can Am effort with jones and tripes etc...they got a lot a value for the money....and won the title..Tripes went on and won races for others too Husky and AMF....he was hard to handle from a team perspective..but always rode the hell out of whatever he was on......

So if you convince the Husky brass to hire J-Law to jockey for them and since he is not elegible by the rules to run the lites class next season.... you might as well go the next step and have him run the new 250 in the 450 class. This way if he shines it's that much more impressive and if he sucks..... then it's an easy out, kid's bike in the big boy class. :)

YES..!!! Robert did say he wanted some conjecture on this issue

although we all know that J law is not realistic for the lites next year.......

Honestly though....I think a rider with some "fire in the belly" would be a good thing...

And also a consultation with a tuner like Mitch Payton or simular would get a better Idea at what it might take in terms of development to get the bike up to speed.....

we need to change the thread title to "dreams...schemes and pipe deams"

Sign Ryan Sipes for 2010. Super hard worker with some experience. Has been top 10, best is in top 5 range. Needs a good team and he could be there. I stress that he needs a good team and a good bike he will have.

Agreed.....Ryan Sipes worthy of a good ride......

I have been watching Justin Brayton too......some of the arenacross guys making the switch deserve a good ride too....
 
Unfortunately we won't get to see the bike until August of 2009 as a 2010 model. However that's not such a bad thing because the 2010 model will most likely be much more similar to Meo's race bike in regaurds to suspenders and such.
