  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TC vs TXC w/tuner

Need some advice. Thinking of adding another 449 to do some real racing with.

Is the 2011 TC449 much more powerful than a 2011 TXC449 with a tuner on it?

Thanks

Jeff

I dont think the US website has power output specs...
My seat of the pants is that a TC449 is comparable to a broken in TXC511 w JD tuner....Ive ridden both. TC is a bit lighter and has 5 speeds vs 6 for TXC.

Um no, The TXC 511 stock has 1 more HP than the TC449 and that's with lower quality Akro. Nick raced the fastest 449 money could make. It was a TXC 511 with a powercomander 5, megabomb header, 4.1rct, port & polish. If you are going to race desert, use TXC cams, if you are going to race street or mx track, use TC cams.

Specifications
Look at page 18-19

If you look at page 11 you will see that the TC449 puts out 8% more hp than the TE449, but pay close attention to the smoothness of the power band. This is why the throttle body injection on the TE/TXC's is superior to the TC's. The TXC tbi is much more progressive and smoother. But you can add that 8% HP to a TXC511 which will yield 55HP cams alone, with the mentioned above exhaust and pcv it makes 60+ HP.

TC449=50.0 HP @ 9,300rpm TXC449 = 46.5 HP @ 9,000rpm TXC511= 51.0 HP @ 9,000rpm

Are you telling me that my butt is accurate within 1 horsepower.
:-)
Pretty much, well without the tuner. I am thinking about going to the Bazzaz tuner to get the traction control. I didn't want to use a tuner until I fixed the torque limiter. Ty has a ported and polished head for me too. Not that I need to go any faster.

thanks for all the input. It doesn't seem like much difference.

The price is too good to pass up.

Think I will give it a try. that will make three 2011's
