  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TC 250 - Ohlins Shock Available

AA Class
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that Hall's Cycles has a couple complete Ohlins TTX44 rear shocks for the new 2010 TC 250. I just picked mine up last night and will be testing it tonight. I have already installed a DSP Ti spring and I know that makes a difference, but the stock Sachs shock (with stock spring) weighs 9 lbs. 2 3/4 oz. whereas my new Ohlins shock (with Ti spring) only weighs 7lbs even........over 2 pounds lighter! Just thought I would share and if anyone is interested in getting one, Hall's have a couple left (if you're a racer, I assume you could be able to pay with Contingency money too :)). Peace.

As for price, I'm honestly not 100% sure on that. Give Jeff at Halls a call and he can give you whatever information is needed about the shock. As for pics, my wife is gone Monday - Friday at school with our computer SO I will post pictures Friday night when she gets back........it looks awesome though! Will keep this thread updated. Peace.

just fitted the same shock to my 2010 tc450.. have u had much trouble dailing it in i have found havin 3 opions a little confussing?

Honestly, the setup for us hasn't been too bad. We just take the owners manual to practices/races and read straight from the book. I absolutely love the shock can honestly say I'm faster because of it. Unfortunately I've only raced 2 weekends with it and have been "laid up" for the past 3 weeks due to a really nasty get-off ( the ole false nuetral on the face of a 80ft uphill triple.....not good). As far as shock goes, I love it and was money well spent. Peace.
