Husqvarna
B Class
Hi all,
I just joined this great forum. I`m from Finland and own a Husqvarna TE 250 2015. I will use it mostly in motocross type riding, but it`s good to have lights also if needed. I was first going to buy a mx model, but my friend sold this bike so cheaply I could not resist. I will reduce the weight of the bike and myself also... Engine will get many upgrades.
I will remove these parts first: Side stand, battery, e-starter and hand guards. It will get Slavens e-starter elimination kit. Later lighter weight Michelin Starcross tyres and also lighter inner tubes and rim locks. It will get stiffer springs also to reduce the sag as these TE models are so soft for mx use.
I want to ask if a TC 250 2014 CDI box has basically the same ignition curve as SX 250 CDI box has? There is one used TC 250 2014 CDI box for good price here. If it is basically the same part I will buy it then. Other mods will be:
- 13-50 secondary gear ratio vs. std European 14-50. 1st gear will be too short for mx use and 6th gear too tall, so basically usable gears for mx will be 2nd to 5th depending of the track
- Keihin PWK 38S larger carb vs. stock PWK 36S. I will use Suzuki RM 250 (2008) NECJ needle in 3rd clip and start with 175 main jet and 42 pilot jet (ordered)
- Moto Tassinari V-Force 4 reed valve (ordered)
- RK Tek cylinderhead made for our 98 octane pump gas containing 5% ethanol (I will order this asap)
- SX 250 or this TC 250 CDI box for more ignition advance (I will buy this TC 250 2014 one if ok)
- Ignition map switch
- NGK BR8EIX Iridium spark plug (one step colder heat range as the original 7)
- Full Bill`s Pipes exhaust system (I wil order this soon)
- I will first start with the yellow power valve spring, but maybe later test it with red spring
Gear ratios are different for TC 250 vs. TE 250:
1st gear: 2.000:1 vs. 2.286:1
2nd gear: 1.600:1 vs. 1.750:1
3rd gear: 1.333:1 vs. 1.250:1
4th gear: 1.143:1 vs. 1.126:1
5th gear: 0.955:1 vs. 0.948:1
6th gear: ————- vs. 0.828:1
TC 250 has 13-48 secondary gear ratio vs. TE 250 14-50, but I will use 13-50 so a bit shorter than TC 250.
Cheers from cold Finland,
Janne
