• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Haven't you heard? He already has and he loves them! I have to try them out. What a great line-up for a demo-day! Too bad about 125's because I really wanted to give one a whirl.

I had Greg (ioneater), Brian (BTC), Adam and Kelly (Ride) over at my place for breakfast before we all headed up to the event...it was great to see everyone again!

I want to give a big thanks to Tasky's for hosting such an incredible demo day and JR for providing such a sweet private track for us all to ride on! It was one of my favorite rides in a long long time.

I went last year with my brand spanking new 2008 Husqvarna TE 450 and I had just 1 year of riding under my belt. I was overwhelmed and felt like such a beginner. The jumps were scary and I was really intimidated. Plus, it was a free-for-all with people trying out bikes and if you were at all shy others would just walk up for a ride for the 5th and 6th time before I ever tried a bike.

This year was completely different. Tasky's had a really good system where you received a punchcard landyard with all their demo bikes printed on it to punch out each time you rode a specific bike. This assured everyone a chance to ride them all at least once!

The bike that blew me away was the 2009 Husaberg FE 450! Wow, there isn't a more smooth bike out there and the EFI was just a cut above my TE 450. Just so you all know, I was having issues with my bike stalling a lot, but JDJETTING fixed that as I didn't stall the bike ONCE and it was running extremely well! It felt a tad bit lighter than my TE 450, but the linkless suspension was amazing...soft over trail trash, aggressive through the corners and didn't bottom on flat landings off jumps. It just loved to leap over everythibng with the greatest of ease and was nicely balanced as it sailed through the air. I cannot tell you how amazingly it would find traction everywhere. You would think that it was my favorite bike out there, but you would be wrong.

My favorite bike, hands down, was Jake's 2008 TXC 250 without a doubt. I loved that the geometry was similar to my bike, but with a more aggressive rake so it turned on a dime. It felt tons lighter. There is no doubt that Kelly's (Motosportz) dampner...AWESOME...added to the incredible handling around corners and for holding a straight twitchless line. I loved the aggressive suspension and forks, which were just a tad soft for me, but much, much better than my 2008 TE 450, which I ran the compression all the way in and still bottomed out! Not with Jake's bike. Greg (ioneater) hated my suspenion after riding the Husaberg FE 570, which he raved about! The TXC 250 had plenty of power when you needed it, but was tame enough to dice up the tighter single track with ease. I was so much faster on his bike that I don't know what to do...I want one!!! I felt like a super hero through the air as that bike can do motocross with no problems! Maybe an Athena 300 kit for just a little more grunt for my lazy big bore @$$.

Anyway, what an awesome day! I kept pushing Greg to ride more until he was whooped! He'll thank me later...maybe...maybe not. I guess we'll know tomorrow.

Man, what a great event Tasky's put on!

I had a chance opportunity to ride the Husy FE570 . Wow, what a great ride-able bike! Couldn't believe how much of a puddy tat the power delivery was if you wanted it to be. If you wanted to get your arms pulled out of the sockets, well that was there too with just a bit more twist. This bike liked being in the air as it was easy to launch and the suspension soaked up everything on landing. I wish my current bike was this friendly when brand new. That's what I kept thinking throughout the loop. I have no idea what settings were on the boingers but it stuck in the turns and didn't try to squirt out laterally when landing in soft loam from a jump. The power delivery was "electric", if that makes sense. Husy definitely has the FI figured out from what I can tell on my short ride on a new, tight bike. Also, the thing didn't feel any heavier than my 510 on the trail; I don't know what their actual weight is. Very impressed with my encounter! FYI the only dirt bikes I've spent a decent amount of time on are a KLX300, TE510 and TE450. I almost wish I hadn't ridden the dang thing:applause:

Great time smokin' and jokin' with F2G, Ride, BTC, Scott, HomeFinance, Jake, Jake's wife, Adam, Jamie Tasky and many new faces as well. Very busy event with lots of pumpkins, hondas, yamis and a few zukes. Nice 3 mile track loop with different types of terrain to get the feel of the bike!

Just getting home from the demo days now. All I can say is WOW. How cool is it to have a dealer show up with the best bikes availible and let you ride them on a private track:thumbsup: Combine that with great weather and about 150 of the friendliest people and food and drink, makes for a pretty good day:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
