• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I know that Cafe Husky is too global for this, but I thought that I'd share it with you, because I think it's a pretty neat game to play with motorcycles. I tossed out the first tag.:D
Edit: I removed the link because the original poster of the thread did not like my tag and started a new thread. They claimed that my tag was "too hard" and they wanted to start with "something easier". I suggested that they start with something on the level of "an Easter egg hunt for a toddler" and they claimed that I was snide.

That does look like a lot of fun! There's been a long-running game of it here in the SF Bay Area on a local forum and everyone seems to have a good time doing it. I kinda play along, in that I look at the photos and try to figure out where they were taken. I get quite a few of them :)

That's a cool rock!

We'll see if anybody gets fired up over it. I noticed another club member rummaging through my ride reports this afternoon....but really all one has to do is look to see where I went yesterday, or if they read my ride reports at all, they know where I end up trail riding at least half the time. Even if they already know that it's at McCain Valley, they still have to spot that rock. The trail in the shot is a rather steep downhill, so I have almost always looked straight down that hill rather than at any scenic features nearby. Like my post said, I have ridden down that trail more than 20 years without noticing the interesting rock off to the side.

 I can relate. When Eric and I were up on the Lost Coast last weekend we drove on a road that we've always ridden on. I don't know if we've ever been on it in a car before. We spotted so much stuff that we'd never seen before! I guess focusing on keeping the wheels on the ground tends to use up more of our attention than we realized :excuseme:

Cool rock indeed
Yep, that version of the game is way too localize to be of any value to the sparse Husky community

You can do something more globalize like a picture of your bike next to like items or things
Like a bridge (any bridge...) or a theater or a body of water, a sign of bears crossing, a rock that is bigger then your bike, a banana tree, a spider monkey....?

And only Husky’s need apply, no cheating with other brands :busted:

Just an idea
