  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Supermoto wheels on a 701 enduro??

MotoXotica

Husqvarna
AA Class
Can this swap be done considering ABS and wheel sensors, ECU programs , ect that are on the 701 bikes ? thanx for any info.Dan

I don't know the 701 system but I assume that it's similar to the software KTM uses on other models. I do know the superduke 1290 very well.
If, and I say if, it is similar it can be done but a quick swap will be out of the question.
First you will need wheels which have the sensor disk on it. If the sensors don't read, you can ride the bike but the ABS, odometer and possibly other functions won't work.
Second, in the diagnostic tool there is a setup which allows you to choose wheel size, this to accommodate for different models in the range.
This needs to be set every time you swap wheels. It pays to stay friendly with your dealer.
If these conditions are met, all will be fine.
When you start the engine without moving the bike, you probably noticed that there is a fault light on till the bike has moved a short distance.
This is the system calibrating for wear in the tires, it does that every time you start so small differences can be accounted for.

It can be done but it's a gigantic pain in the butt if not done properly, and if done properly is very expensive cos the two models have different fork widths.

But since this was posted in July, you've undoubtedly found all of this out by now.
