• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Have you ever wanted to ride in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains ?
But don’t know where to ride? Or stay, eat or get fuel ? Or you just want to ride somewhere different ? Or want to ride trails you’ve only heard about? We may have the answer……
Monarch_ski_Taylor_mtn.png
Our club’s adventures are shared group expense and dirt-oriented; our rides vary in elevation, mileage, weather and types of trails/roads and often cover long distances with a roll-chart and/or GPS. We have planned lodging or camping, meals and fuel stops that make a Rocky Mountain riding adventure stress free.
For 2014 Exit Tours Motorcycle Club will be hosting 2 Singletrack Trail rides, a Rocky Mountain Dual Sport Adventure and a Continental Divide Adventure Tour all on the Continental Divide of Colorado.

Our concept for these adventures was to make these rides accessible to everybody. These are not the exclusive Colorado rides you’ve heard about where you need an invitation. These rides also cost 1/3 to half as much as the ‘exclusive’ rides in Colorado. We cover as much or more distance than the invitational rides in a day, and we won’t hit you up for a donation at every stop like some rides. And we will still all have fun riding in the Rocky Mountains.
Hope to see you in Colorado this Summer.

Actually it's more like when you sign-up for ride roll chart's are included with the amenities.

Here is what we say on:

Navigation:

Exit Tours Motorcycle Club rides are self-guided – we do not provide guides. Every rider will be provided with a map and a GPS track of the route may be available. Roll charts that contain turn mileage, important route information, and other notes are included with the shared group expense. The maps provide an overview of each day’s route so that riders have a general sense of where they are and where they’re going, but are usually not detailed-enough for navigation.

Since GPS units sometimes fail or get confused, and do not support annotations and ancillary information, they should only be used as an aid for navigation. Important information concerning the routes will only be contained on the roll charts: turn mileage, resets, landmarks, points of interest, etc. Use your GPS as the good tool that it is, but we highly recommend you install and use a roll chart to enhance your ride experience, safety and enjoyment. You will need to have an Odometer and a enduro-style roll chart holder mounted to your motorcycle before the ride starts….

I participated in the 2013 Colorado Two Day Dual Sport and I can tell you it was a well organized AWESOME time in Colorado. If you like rocky terrain and fantastic scenery you'll have a blast! WE left there for four more days based out of Ouray on our own. Trip of a lifetime for me!!............Thx Exit Tours!

PS, the TE449 performed flawlessly!

Looks fun, but $1000 is a bit above my pay grade...

Too which ride are you referring ? The Continental Divide Adventure Tour is 5 days, 4 Nights Lodging, Roll Charts, 5 Meals , Luggage Portage, Hot Springs Pass and the Camaraderie of like -minded enthusiasts on a High Adventure-No Hassle Tour of the Continental Divide for $995 or $199 a day.

Bryce, you might find that this ride from the Chaffee County Fairgrounds on August 15-17 is more palatable ? Less than half the shared group expense of the Continental Divide Adventure Tour
and way more off-road.
