  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Stuck Clutch

Hi I just bought a te410e 2001, the clutch lever is very hard to pull and would not disengage. If I pull the clutch all the way the clutch won't disengage, I'll try to puch the bike and the engine will start to turn over. my mechanic has disassembled the clutch and the plates are in great condition and he can't seem find a problem. Does, anyone have any ideas on what might cause such a condition?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

these bike have a cable clutch right? just undo the cable end at the engine and try to pull on your clutch lever i would say the cable is rusted inside, if not then i would look in your parts catalogue at page 33 item 17 to 22 for a bearing problem on the pivot, you can remove the pressure plate on the other side and try to move the small arm 17 and should move easily.

Count your discs and steels. Something aint right and there's a lot of parts in that system that need to work in harmony. That thing needs to come totally apart and be checked against the spec's. Your mechanic is suspect as well if he put it back together and it's not 100% correct.

So,

I still have this problem with my bike. One of the difficulties with fixing it is that the bike is in Greece and I am only there for the summer. It is expensive and takes forever to get parts. So before I go this summer I want to purchase all the parts I might need to fix this and bring them with me. The clutch cable is new, so that is not the issue. The clutch does disengage but not fully and it is difficult to shift and very difficult to find neutral. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
