  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Strap for battery 2013 TXC310

Anyone have pictures of how the rubber strap to hold the battery down goes ?? I have the strap but have no idea of where the right side is supposed to hook. I assume the left side hooks to the aluminum beside it but i could be wrong. I can't find anything on any of the parts fische's that show where it hooks or if there are things to hook to that are not on my bike.

I have a 2012 TE310 and just use double stick foam pieces to wedge it in . Never saw a strap, although I sort of remember one on my 2008. So, not much help here

I never used an OEM strap, long cable ties instead. Pretty sure the 4-strokes I bought from Scott Rocher ('08 TXC250, '09 TXC250, '13 TE310) came that way, as part of their new bike setup...

Has been a while, don't remember details of routing...

No strap on the 2013. The Yuasa would be held in place by the seat where there is a small hard rubber block. If moving to a smaller LI battery pull the tray and put some adhesive foam on the bottom and rest on the ridge on the fender. Add a couple of zip ties through the weep holes on the fender where the battery sits and loop over top of battery. I prefer it lower down so you don't risk anything hitting the frame cross member. The manual seemed to share some images with the 2012 and maybe why showed a strap.

I did zip tie mine as well. And i dont think I have that piece of rubber underneath my seat om the TXC. I will check. I know the zip ties work but you have to remove them every time you want to clean your air filter. Getting to the air filter sucks period.
