• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Stolen Jan 2, 2011, around 8:30am in Vallejo, on Broadway street.
2007 Husqvarna TE 610
Red, white black
Aftermarket IMS gas tank,
Extra riding lights
GPS mount
Tool kit in a red and silver soft pack
License plate fell off during dirt ride so license plate is in the pack.

VIN: ZCGEAEKP87V300588

Witnessed by neighbors and reported to Vallejo police.

Suspect vehicle:
Light blue or silver 1989 Nissan pickup.

I hate those rotten m ongrels that steal a persons bike. A friend and his wife had their TM 300 and TTR 230 stolen last January from their Garage. They reolaced thed bikes and beefed up the doors. The Bastards came in throught the side wall and took the new replacements in May. Can you believe they punched through the brick work.
Good ending the second bike was recovered ( a real mess) and the rider booked. He claimed he bought in a pub from a stranger according the the press.
There is a fair bit of bike thievery in my State and the police generally are pretty ineffective at recovery. I just loathe those low lifes who do that lousy rotten thing to riders
 
really bothers me about things being stolen, especially bikes. I have had a 4x4 truck stolen as well as a brand new rode twice hodaka combat wombat. None were recovered.

We have a hot bed of dirt bike rip offs here in calif., one of the reasons is because states like Nevada, dont require registration of dirt bikes. The market in Nevada for dirt bikes is really hot, and it doesnt help that a calif dirt bike stolen here can be sold there as if it was legit, no one cares no one wants to do anything about it.

Calif. may have its share of problems, but requiring dirt bike registration, at least keeps
some hot bikes from being used here, and if they are used here, there's a chance it can be recovered. Of course that would mean blm, rangers, and leo's would have to do their job and check vins. Soap box soap box.

Hope the guy gets his bike back...

Good news! Bike has been recovered by Vallejo PD :applause:

The owner doesn't have it in his hot little hands yet, but at least the thieves don't have it anymore :thumbsup:

The owner has been a volunteer with the National Motorcycle Patrol for years, supporting AFM roadracing and various off-road racing events as well. Score one for the good guys :cheers:

Recently a good ride buddy got his KTM stolen out of his lacked garage while he was home**************************************** It was found a week later right down the street in a back yard. someone that new my buddy saw some orange and told him. Got the bike back but the freaking cops would do nothing as they did not see them steel it and the piles of stuff obviously stolen which was littered everywhere. (tools etc)

Then a few weeks ago a good friend got his trailer, bikes and gear stolen from his driveway and that got recovered through some posted on TT.

two for two recoveries. Nice.
