Stolenfant
Husqvarna
A Class
Just bought used '09 610TE w/ 7500mi. Rode one day and all seemed to work properly. However, I plan to keep for a couple years and many tens of thousands of miles. So it's in the garage being disassembled for the first, and hopefully last time this year.
Is there a TDC indicator other than the silly tool shown in the service manual? I want to adjust the valves.
Drained oil. There were some whiskers of steel on magnet, and found a sliver of alumium (looked like a piece of final thread from the original tapping operationin) otherwise ok.
1. How many and which "specialty tools" will I need to pull the flywheel to check cam chain?
2. How many and which specialty tools will I need to pull clutch basket and install these heavy spring washers the PO never installed?
3. Should I pull the head and check the cylinder for scoring? I don't plan to pull the engine until I overhaul it (hopefully around 25k).
4. Should I disassemble the rear suspension linkage, or just grease the zerk fittings?
5. Are the seals on rear susp linkage dual lip (You can "invert/ruin" dual lip seals by over greasing with grease gun).
6. Anyone know of a snorkle mod or other method of moving air intake higher?
7. Does anyone make a true two finger clutch lever, or one I can adjust "out" farther so I can keep pinkie and next finger under lever (on the bars)? I want full life out of the gear box so ALWAYS use clutch and it doesn't like "partial disengagement".
The biggest questions are 1, 2 and 5.
Thanks in advance,
Clint
