  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Almost looks like it's been repaired before maybe? ...or is that a bad casting? either way- that looks repairable: aluminum screen, epoxy-resin (with metal powder; in the US "J-B Weld"), a wetted finger to smooth it out for that finished look and 24 hrs later you're back in business.

Find the missing chunks if you can (inside?) because it makes the repair easier.

good luck.

Part # 80A0 99174
COVER, GENERATOR
$162.50USD

Thanks, was really pitted on the front edge when I got it, my friend has welded it but it turned into a bit of a nightmare even with his fancy ac tig! Jb weld would have probably been best, it will hold oil now just won't look pretty, the ocd in me likes things to be right so I will have to buy a new one at some point, thanks for the help all!

sheesh. A nice aftermarket cover (nice find Clay) and a stock cover in the UK both list for much less than a stock one in the US (which does seem overpriced)

BTW, One-speed... J-B Weld makes a very good body filler too. It'll fill those pits, bubbles & gouges and not add any real weight.

ps- dougomundo: I didn't see your post when I made mine... maybe you're still on probation.

Yeah that might be the case as i have to get mod approval, how long does that last?
Anyway that site is useful for part numbers, but postage and the prices are brutal!

2 weeks to 2 months.... but really, since this time last year, we have only two mods left (and even the forum owner is MIA). And these guys are overworked. So the new paradigm is that you post until one of the mods finally gets tired of reading your "crap"...
OR
go to the thread in the "office" forum called "new accounts approval" or some such, and ask nicely. very nicely. and there will be no announcement- but eventually, suddenly you'll be able to edit your posts (even edit years in the future- the only forum I know that allows that. use with care) and a buncha other nice perqs.

good luck. and welcome to ch.

THanks for the link to the Australian site with the billet cover, exactly what I am after, hope they ship to the UK!

GHR(Glenn Hoffman racing) surely they'd post OS?!

Bloody expensive sum of their gear!

If u boys find they don't ship OS pm me n get it sent to my house n ill forward it on to yas. Must be another trustworthy member who lives close by them that could go in n get them n post OS to save 2 lots of shipping?!

Anyway jus an option for yas
