• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fellow club member and myself are riding from Arnold Ca.over to Lower Blue Lakes off Hwy 88 on Sunday. Should be an epic adventure at 8000ft here in the Sierras of Ca. I'll be taking some photos fo sho!

sweet ride, took 130 pics. How do I post a couple of pics on the web? My iphone has pics in folder on the computer that I can't figure out how to give a url address.

Parked at Lower Bear Res. and rode some fun technical granite trails to Mud Lake then to Horsetheif Canyon down trail 17e21. One of the funnest trails I've been on. Riding singletrtack at 8000ft just west of Kirkwood ski place. Not a long ride...a quality ride.

Sounds like you had fun

You could always attach the pics to a post if you do not want to host them on a photo sharing site (like photobucket). Those are the only 2 ways I know of to show pics.

Too much fun,I'm going back on Monday. Giggles all day long. Must explore some more and I'll have some more info.

Oh, that is a super fun area! Enjoy it all now as it is in imminent danger of being closed soon. There used to be a ton of stuff up there but not anymore...

I'm looking forward to the photos!

Just remember to be extra careful hunting season is upon us!!! That area can get kind of crazy..I beleive for that area (D-5) it starts 9/26 to 11/1.. You can bow hunt there now but rifles start on the 26th..I have had a couple stetchy run-ins when I've ridden there during the season...
