• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sprockets for 610 enduro

North

Husqvarna
AA Class
I was just wondering who has changed their 610 enduro sprockets. And what you changed to.

I was thinking of going to 14 by 48. I want more low end grunt for off road.

Thanks

I went up 2 on the rear. Used Ironman sprockets. Bit more bottom end, and on top still plenty easy on the highway. This with the power up kit.

Bike wheelies with ease. Out runs a builty XR650.

I got a 48 rear, it's made by Mooseracing. I did have the 14 on the front, but I went back to the 15.

Mike:

Have you had any problems with the 47 T rear and the upper chain roller? I thought I remembered a post somewhere about the mount for the upper chain roller bending with rear sprockets larger than X, but I can't find the post and can't remember X?

Thanks,

Howard

No problemo at all.

Stock gearing is great if you do a fair bit of asphalt, and have a corked up (stock) bike.

If you only hit asphalt to connect the trails, or if the bike is 'opened up'

then a 47 or 48 rear is a nice way to go.

I use the Ironman rear and love it. Any bigger rear sprocket will most likely need another masterlink.

When we goin riding? :)

Your bike looks great.

I hope to get out to California sometime this summer (once the semester is over) and we ought to do a trip then!

Thanks for the comments on the bike - I'm working in the dark because I haven't seen photos of your ralley build yet!;)

I can't find the 47 T sprocket. I see a 46T. Who was the supplier of the 47T

FWIW, I've gone from the stock 15-45 to 14-45 and now to 14-48. I'll probably put a 16 if I plan to put some real road miles in, but for the mixed use I just put the bike through yesterday (boulder crawling, single track, higher speed logging roads + some highway), it worked damn well.

Ive just done the 1 tooth front drop so far. Havent tried any tight trails yet, but it works nicely around town and on faster off road stuff.

I run 14/47 for the dirt and 16/45 when I mostly road it. The lower gearing really helps in the tight stuff, gives my clutch a break. Haven't had any problems with the upper chain roller (yet).

I ran 15/47 for my Baja trip and liked the ratio. It give just a bit more oomph in 6th gear so that the bike doesn't feel like it's lugging.

Dirt Tricks does not make a 47T for the TE610 as you found out. So I went with their 46T and have both a 14T and 15T counter sprocket. I run 14/45 now and 70mph is about 5K RPM, a bit buzzy for a long haul.

So 15/46 I think will be a better compromise street ratio to get the RPM well below 5K, and slap the 14T on for a bit lower than my current setup. Jumping to a 48T with a 15T up front would not have improved the 5K 70mph buzz.

I liked that as well, but found in the stuff posted over on ADV, that some better crawling ability is much appreciated.
