• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Spring Fever in MN Today!

What a day here in MN today.. Was nice and warm, sunny, no wind and one of the first days to reach 60 since about 5 months ago.

Told one of my good friends I'd give him a ride up to the dealership so that he could pick up a new white toy. He allready has a Yamy WR450F for offroad and a R1 for hooligan antics but he was wanting to add a cruiser to ensure his garage was overpacked along with his snowmobile, jet ski, 3 top end mountain bikes and 2 road bikes. I've yet to figure out how he keeps the wife from serving the papers with all his toy purchases???

Unfortunately I could not resist at all and ended up with a new one too (grey metalflake). Then we called a couple of more friends to tell them about the hot deals going down and two more came up to Heinens and purchased the same bike. So a bunch of good friends ended up with 4 new M109s today. Two were taken off the floor and drove home (mine and the guy mentioned above) and the other two (black and yellow with white stripe) will be picked this week.

Guess I'll have to pass on the SM610 this summer and just ride the TE510.. was a very difficult decision but decided the M109 would do some nice steet duty and make it easier to keep my DL.

even though I drove my little red convertible to take in the nice day there was no holding back on this deal.

Got in 110 miles of easy break-in after coordinating transportation of my red convertable back home. It was difficult to keep the M109 under 75 mph on the freeway.. it is one smooth as silk cruiser.

That's not a Ski-Doo!! I thought only Ski-Doo's and dirtbikes were available to purchase in Elk River.

Enjoy.

Now that's a sweet little bike....:lol::lol::lol:

The next thing ya know after it's broken in....you'll be down at your local
Drag strip see'n what she will do in a Quarter mile.

Here's my buddy's "Busa"... Things faster that my old 1260 Pro Gas.
And it's "STOCK"

that is ironic... one of my other good friends has been hunting for a Busa.. specifically for the 1/4. They are one amazing quick bike for showroom stock caliber. Don't they trip it less than 9 sec on the 1/4?

I almost purchased one off EBAY from a dealer her in WI several weeks ago for $9100, new 08 orange/black. Didn't think my DL would make it and did not want to end up dead...

Thus we coined it "getting Busa's old man" the M109 to the friend that still has it for a new Busa:lol:

Rumor has it that Hayabusa engines with few miles are easy to get off wrecked bikes.

I think that is a direct coorelation with the high insurance rates for owning a busa...:excuseme:

I think you are correct!

Sadly many of the riders are also wrecked, some totaled.

still not real ride weather in MN yesterday but close enough... made it to a balmy 45.

saw several groups of riders out today and a few of us put some break-in miles on the new M109's. Saturday went with another friend to purchase his new 08 Suzuki Hayabusa in grey/black. Should be finished with service by the end of the week and ready to take on the MN chill.

Think my Husky TE510 is getting jealous! The M109R even stole the GPS off the Husky..

Never in my life would I have expected a big cruiser to corner but man.. after only a few hunderd miles the chicken strips are getting very narrow... when it warms up I would expect them to be completely gone..

Since the deals were hot another friend broke down and picked up a new Yamaha R6.. Guess all of us MN riders are stimulating the economy:excuseme:

Busa's are fun to ride. That torque is so very addicting. Haven't ridden the new R6 but can imagine the extreme contrast between the Busa and R6 would be bizarre.
