• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just want to inform you that my wife's mom is on her death bed and we are dealing with it. As my wife and her mom were VERY close this is hard for everyone and we have family members coming in and a lot going on. I will try to maintain some service but just know fast response this week might not happen. Sorry for any inconveniences.

Thanks
Kelly

Sorry to hear about this. Hope everything turn out as well as possible. Best wishes to your family.

I feel for you. My dad just died last month after experiencing a massive stroke which caused him to fall and strike his head. He lingered for about three weeks. It was a blessing when he passed.

Thanks people. Just supporting my wife and family as I can. Walt I know you are dealing with similar issue and Dame, very sorry to hear that. Life just gets more fun the older you get and see the people you love die around you****************************************

Anyway, thanks.

Family has to come first Kelly. Take care of your wife - your "Husky family" will be here when you're ready to deal with business.

Thanks everyone. My wifes mom passed away this morning. Been a long hard road so there is actually relief and my wife is handing it all very well. We have family in town so it will be next week before i am back 100%. We are still maintaining service and things are being processed. Thanks for the thoughts. The circle of life continues minus one great woman.

Oh, one thing I learned through all this, get your living will done NOW. Otherwise it is a big mess for those taking care of you and getting your wishes completed. We thought we had it all sorted but it was still a mess. Get your crap in line as you never know when your number is up.

Thanks all.

I try to live life to the fullest each day, but plan for the worst - though I don't dwell on it.

Sorry Kelly,
It is hard to let go but it can be done. My mom of 91 years left us in April and we all (8 kids and spouses, 23 grand kids, 3 great grand kids) miss her still. First T-day without her. I am thankful she was a christian and she dances on the golden streets with my dad now.
Hang in there brother and keep the ones you love close to you and talk it all out. Prayers to you all!!!
