  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
A Class
Sold my truck, so I decided to legalize (I have papers, don't worry) my TE450 to make getting to the trails easier. It's going to be a few weeks until the parts arrive, and I'm bored because it's currently unrideable due to a broken clutch master (thanks Dad!).

When I got it.

Alright, so my first update. It's taken forever for the parts, I blame it being a Husky. More to come, stupid postal strike.

Strip-er-down;
dsc00429q.jpg

First install! 7602 Oil filter cover. Bling!
dsc00435b.jpg

It was stripped further down and cleaned, but I didn't take any pictures of that. Removal of the stickers and dirt (a lot of dirt) was done before these pictures. Originally I was thinking of putting some DOTs on, but I'll wait until these tires are fuzzed. Shouldn't be too long the way I ride.

Spal fan fitment check. Well, I decided not to bother installing the temperature switch, I don't feel like hacking open the coolant lines and creating a potential leak spot. This will be mounted behind the 7602 radiator guards (yet to come), and be pretty slick. I've seen it before. I know pushers are less efficient, but it'll have to do because there aint any space behind with the bigger tank.

BLARGH! Wires. Not much else to say.
dsc00438b.jpg

7602 clutch cover fitment check, looks pretty sweeeeet.

Zeta clamp check... it failed this one, haha. VSM was cool 'bout it, sent 'er back and ordered the HDB unit. The HDB unit will be awesome; CNC'd Vapor mount and black anodized. I'm really looking forward to that piece.

A fuzzy zoomed in picture of the 7602 oil bolts, very nice units with a couple benefits over the stock garbage. Attached O-rings, bigger magnets, and 14mm instead of hex.
dsc00452nc.jpg

Ooo... DRC Edge, flush mount LED signals and Seat Concepts seat all fitted.
dsc00461q.jpg

The AWESOME VSM Warness. This this is easier then 2+2.

Wait for it... waaaaaaait for it...........

OMFG GOMFGOMOMFGOMG.

7602's all bolted up, and new (unbent) pegs installed.
dsc00480m.jpg

Handlebar set-up all ready to go. Zeta guards mounted, clutch master replaced (still needs the ever so special Magura blood), just waiting on the HDB clamp.

New skid plate. I really like this thing. The rear bolts were too short, but that gives me a chance to use some bolts out of a bolt-kit I bought. Fitment is perfect and the protection is 10x better then stock. Just mocked up for now, waiting on the stator.

Well it's pretty much finished for now! I went for a ride to find to do an all-around check; rear chain and handlebar clamp were loose.... Anyway, everything works great. The fan blows a ton of air compared to the crappy computer fan set up before, the Vapor gauge works great, the HID works great and the seat is super comfortable! Looky, looky!

So much room for my big fanny!

dsc00552w.jpg

Super awesome custom fan mount (needs shrouds, but I have yet to figure that part out).

dsc00553ih.jpg

This is probably one of my favorite pieces of the build... So clean. Down the road I'll use the LED spots for the signals, power and fan. Maybe mount a USB power port and GPS mount.

So bright!

I'll take some better pictures when the weather doesnt %!@#ing blow.

I'd like to thank;
Mark from VancouverSupermoto,
and Paul from HighwayDirtbikes..

It's nice to know there are still some businesses that know how to treat people out there.

Haha, thanks! That 7602 stuff is very sweet. I kinda wish I order red guards instead. Although, I do have enough 7602 stickers to make by car red... haha

I have a street legal 2005 TE450 from previous owners. Am having multiple electrical issues that I rig to work one-by-one as they arise. One of the small ones:

How is the horn wired? Mine buzzes when the bike runs, honks fine when it is off. I ended up going directly to the battery and the switch wire.

Looking good, just a quick question, I thought vancouver super moto had closed?
I called at the store about six months ago and they were shut.website is still up but has an invalid security certificate?

Tail light is a DRC Edge Universal. I got it from VancouverSupermoto, which is still around via website. I'm not too sure what happened to their shop, I ordered everything online. Mark is very nice and easy to deal with.

Very nice job! How did you get the HID light to work? Isen't the stock wireing for the headlight AC power? and do you have to turn on light yourself vs. coming on w/bike. I bought a Trail Tech HID from Mototsportz a year and a half ago ( long story) any way Trail tech said it can't be hooked to my bike (2004 TE250).

Stator was rewired by VancouverSupermoto, to put out DC only.. and the wire harness was replaced with a VancouverSupermoto unit. HID is set up as my high beam, I have a regular bulb for low beams.
