  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Spending Money On A Te310

A Class
I have a 2011 TE310 with 4K miles on it. The PO was large and the springs are too stiff. I can only use about 7" of fork travel. So.. I was thinking of rebuilding the forks/shocks. Then I thought about doing top end and clutch. Feathering a clutch is fine for me and I hate that with a Rekluse clutch you can't push start it. So I'm wondering:
1). Just ride it as is, its fine
2). Give it a good going over and make it like I want it
3). Get a new(ish) TE300i 2 stroke

I have a fever for the TE300i but I'm trying to be a rational adult.

I have three bikes. A 2014 TE310r (95% same bike as yours), 2018 Gasgas EC250, and 2022 Yamaha WR250F. The best bike ever if I could mix them is the chassis from the Yamaha, suspension from the GG and the engine from the Husky. All my bikes has KYB suspension so I can get them to work similar with some dollars. The GG is the only one I have put real money in though. It has RG3. This season I have put the RG3 on the Husky so Ill get back with a review. Back to your Q. You own one of the best bikes ever built. Put the money you feel for in the bike. Never sell it as long as you ride offroad. Youll have a great bike.

Thanks. For now I decided to try to bury my lust for the TE300 at least until I get the 310 re-sprung.
